James Carneiro

Originally hailing from Texas, James now resides in Flint, MI where he works in the fields of community beautification, hyperlocal journalism, and city-college relations. In the past he has completed projects such as Safe Routes to School, a GIS-focused youth program aimed at reducing potential dangers to Flint schoolchildren, and Americorps Alums 4 Central Park, a neighborhood-wide cleanup crew dedicated to trash disposal during the first year of COVID.

He can often be found hiking around Mott Lake or taking minutes at neighborhood meetings.
